Saturday Fun........Breast Cancer Tips

When Rob was away with friends - Lucas and I had spent our time doing a lot of nothing and hanging out together! It was like old times when we were on our own.

I made one of Lucas' favorite- marinated tofu! I must say I hadn't had any in a long time and it was good. I've been reading a book - How I Cured Cancer Naturally by Eydie Mae

I'm enjoying this book because the woman talks of her battle with breast cancer and although I wouldn't do what she did- I love reading about her and her husband together making the journey to Ann's place. Then when they got home they started a garden. Eydie gives a lot of tips on starting up your own little garden at home. Eydie uses a living foods way of eating and includes some of her favorite recipes.

In the book the women actually visited Ann Wigmore at here mansion where she taught her how to heal herself.
soooo
I am also reading a book by Ann Wigmore's book- Be Your Own Doctor
(I am not being my own doctor- I LOVE my doctors and I do whatever they tell me, but Ann talks about eating and growing your own food)
Ann is a very interesting person with a lot of knowledge and she had a pretty interesting life. She speaks of God as well and I like that.

So Ann talks about eating WEEDS.........yeah like the weeds in your backyard! She mentioned how strong dandelions are and how healing they are. And you know what it sort of made sense to me. So I went right out to the back yard and searched out some weeds for salad. Good thing the lawn guy hadn't come. Also I realized that I was better off picking weeds in an area where no animals visit. I happened to have a plant box with some weeds.
Oh and don't eat the brickie leaves...lol

Ann says you should sneak some of these in your children's sandwich- nice idea

It was a sweet afternoon to enjoy the sun and all the bees out doing their job!

We ate really good all day- I was so proud of myself and Lucas.

Veggies got a bath.............

Speaking of bathing your veggies

Environmental Working Group puts out a list of fruits and vegetables with the most pesticides.

You will definitely want to buy your apples ORGANIC!
NOTE: These were tested the way we eat them- they were washed- and if they are a fruit or vegetable we peel they peeled them before testing them. SO even if you wash them they still have pesticides. They didn't use any of the washes on the market BUT the pesticides are taken up by the fruit and vegetable as a whole so it's highly unlikely they would really help. You decide on that.

So if I buy cucumbers that are not organic I peel them- whether it's cutting down on pesticides not sure- but I feel better. Cucumbers are middle of the list. The bad list I won't buy unless they are organic.

Here's the top 15 with the most pesticides:

Peaches
Apple
Sweet Bell Pepper
Celery
Nectarine
Strawberries
Cherries
Kale
Lettuce
Grapes (imported)
Carrot
Collard Greens
Spinach
Potato

Here's the 15 with the least pesticides:
Onion
Avocado
Sweet Corn (frozen)
Pineapple
Mango
Asparagus
Sweet Peas (frozen)
Kiwi
Cabbage
Eggplant
Papaya
Watermelon
Broccoli
Tomato
Sweet Potato

Great post! I was wondering if you would share the marinated tofu recipe.. it looks so good!
Along the lines of your weed eating experience (-; I've also read that eating LOCAL honey is very beneficial. It's best when grown w/in 10 miles of where you live. I'm not sure if you can find it that close, but I know it can help with allergies, (like an immunization, you are ingesting the localized pollen to build your own immunities) as well as it's a great antifungal/ antibacterial agent. AND it's all natural (gotta love that). We use it for a lot- even as cough medicine, and it works great.
Continue to be well!
Sending love and light your way!
