Motivation Monday

I LOVE house tours and these two are a couple of my favorites:

The 1st one is from blog BECAUSE I"M ADDICTED- I love that blog!

It's the Laurel Canyon home of photographer Amy Neunsinger

The next was Brooklyn home of Jenna Lyons of Jcrew (before her divorce)

I loved the house tour @ HabituallyChic

Space

Our home is little with a HUGE beating heart!

I know I complain about how small our place is and how cramped I feel- not too mention it's dry as dirt and the heat comes and goes as it pleases----Rob will kill me for saying that.  BUT I do love it.  It's cozy~ it's us.  I have always been a person who could live happily in clutter.  It's just comfy- it makes me feel good.

I realize my son has gotten that from me :(

As I've gotten older and have so much to do- organized and no clutter makes life so much easier!

I love to see other people's places - especially small places.

I recently see an article about a couple living in 500 square feet and it was nice- I loved their place.

Erin and Danny even manage to entertain in there home

I honestly don't know how I would feel in a larger space.  Well I'm sure I could find to love it and fill it......wink wink Rob!

Anyways here's the article over at Apartment Therapy.

I also stumbled on a little movie over at Zara about Lucy Chadwick and Duffy and there little project away from the city.  There are so many living space options out there.  Here is the clip- I love there loft in the city as well as there place in the woods.

Oh and they have a place in London check it out over at the Selby

I must say decorating our home is fairly easy  ~I will have to post my Christmas pictures.
We are off tomorrow to visit one of my best friends~ I'm so excited to see her and her family.

Books everywhere.................

So I am ever so slowly trying to do our bedroom - and my plan is to get everything out that doesn't have to be in the room! Our room is small and I tend to clutter stuff up. All over our room is books! Rob and I both like to read before bed so we have the books we are reading at the moment (for me that's a few). Then we have another pile- Books to Read (Rob's) and Books to continue to look stuff up (Danielle's). Well on top of that we also had all my books all over in different piles. Rob's already read mob books were kept in the living room any old way. I hate to say this, but I don't like paperback books so I tried to get rid of some of his mob paperbacks. Well I tried. My paperbacks are OK because they contain important info...lol.

So I can across a lot of different ways to display your book collection. I would see some displays with books color coded looking so nice........and I could never do that. The trick to that is doing book covers I think. Then I seen this picture below where they displayed the opposite side of the books. Cool huh....

This is really good especially if you don't want others to see what you are reading....Like the one night the snoopy carpet cleaner was looking over our books and was like "Gee.... you have a big range of book subjects: Mob, Cancer, Eating, IBS, God"....yeah we have issues.....lol

This would be what I would normally do with my books....I'm not digging it right now.

 Love this look

Here's another look we do sometimes
SICK OF IT!

Fireplace with BOOKS....LOVE IT
Oh how much I love this room- I had to laugh when I looked in the one mirror to see purses hanging on the wall- when I was young and had a cute collection of vintage purses I hung them on the wall in my bedroom! I just came across some of my favs and thought about hanging them on the wall, but that would be too girly for our bedroom maybe a girly office space?

 Stack em

Nah

Here's what I ended up doing:

I collected every book in the house (except cook books) and was able to get them all on there. I was even able to store magazines underneath.

NO more Man Hanging from a Wrecking Ball- that was the picture hanging where the flower picture is - typical guy thing.
The FLOWER picture I originally had in my bedroom, but now I"m thinking of keeping it in the living room. HOMEGOODS- I love you.

Next in my bedroom
*my jewelry - I have about 2 jewelry boxes in sight....the rest are hidden under my bed and there's a lot. Under the bed organizing can be a project in it's self...if you know me you know I like jewelry. My jewelry is very well organized - it's the other parts under the bed that need fixing...........Like do we really need a rifle, baseball bat, and every extra button every attached to a piece of clothing we ever bought under there? Our issues continue.LOL

Sweet Dreams...Sleep Tight....

I still can't stop thinking about re-doing my bedroom..................
I love the colors in this bedroom- so soothing

I do love this picture here but more important I'm realizing that painting things can really help when accessorizing your room. I mean the lantern here could have been painted white...the vases on the floor if I can't find them in white I can purchase an interesting vase in any color and paint it white. There seems to be a lot of white showing up around.
Yellow- I ALWAYS LOVE YELLOW.

Even here with the light fixture- I LOVE the Yellow fixture, but couldn't I just buy a light fixture and paint it yellow?

Now the major problem in my bedroom is the fact that there is window right above our headboard so I'm a little unsure what to do about that. I often think about a full curtain right across.
Like the picture below - I don't have the side windows that's where maybe mirrors would be nice or art work.

I find this bedroom crispy and ready for some major sleep! Notice the white horse.

OK here are some mirrors next to the bed........

It's hard to know whether I'd like mirrors or art work. I did purchase a picture for our bedroom, but still I like to look around at wall art. It takes some talent to really dress your home with pictures----I think. Or maybe it's just me that feels like I don't have a clue.

Here's a wall of pictures

I love this picture in this bedroom and the colors are nice too...

And then there's Family Walls.........

Pictures on tables- I always like that for some reason.

Big Pictures
While I was browsing I found this over at
by Ray Caesar ............Oh I LOVE this!

Also love these by Casey OConnell
I should get this print- I think about Rob when I see this one

Or this one............

Or maybe this one...again makes me think of Rob

Just looking at these pictures makes me feel so good................
Well I must get going me and my camel Sheba are going to relax with a nice glass of red wine.
